n his address to the nation on 13 April 2020, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi ji urged the people of India to download Arogya Setu App on their smartphones.
Here are three reasons why you must do it:
1. Physical Distancing: With the Arogya Setu app on your phone, you can prevent yourself from coming in close contact with COVID-19 patients and people they might have come in contact with. It’s location-sharing-feature has been so designed to alert you in any such event.
The app will also help you prevent yourself from entering in the hotspot areas and the high risk zones. The app will notify you as you move close to such areas.
2. Contact Tracing: It can help the health authorities do the contact tracing of newly infected persons and see if you may have by any chance come in contact with them recently. The app, as it appears, will notify you accordingly and advise you of further steps.
3. E-Pass: The app can serve as an e-pass when the lockdown is relaxed. The government may allow only those people to move freely who may have this app downloaded on their phones and their app status reads as “You are Safe”.
Given the above, it is important that you download the app and keep the mobile data, bluetooth, GPS location always ON.
