3 Must-Do Health Checkups for Women Above 30

The top three must-do health checkups for women above 30 are cervical cancer screening (Pap smear/HPV test), breast examination (clinical and self-exam), and metabolic health checks including diabetes and cholesterol tests.

  1. Cervical Cancer Screening (Pap Smear/HPV Test)

Women above 30 should undergo a Pap smear every three years or a Pap smear with HPV co-testing every five years to detect early signs of cervical cancer. Early detection can prevent most cervical cancers and allows for timely intervention.

  1. Breast Health Examination

Regular breast self-examination and clinical breast exams are important to identify lumps or abnormalities. Mammograms are typically recommended starting at age 40, but women with family history or risk factors may begin earlier. Early detection is critical for successful breast cancer treatment.

  1. Metabolic Health: Diabetes & Cholesterol Tests

Hands wearing blue gloves use a glucose meter on another person's finger against a polka dot pattern. Focused, clinical setting.

Annual screening for diabetes (fasting blood sugar, HbA1c) and a lipid profile for cholesterol are essential as risks increase with age and lifestyle changes. These tests help to detect prediabetes, diabetes, and increased risk for heart disease early.

Regular health checks enable early detection and better management of key risk factors for women in their 30s, supporting long-term wellness
